Dr. Kurt Newman was President and Chief Executive Officer of Children's National Hospital in Washington, DC, which is currently ranked No. 5 nationally by U.S. News & World Report.

Dr. Newman is a surgeon and recognized leader in pediatric healthcare nationally. In 2009, he was instrumental in securing the transformational $150 million gift to create the Sheikh Zayed Institute, which has the bold vision of making surgery for children minimally invasive and pain-free.

He has led the development of the Children's National Research and Innovation Campus at Walter Reed, a unique innovation ecosystem devoted to scientific discovery and cures for children.

Dr. Newman is the author of a 2017 best-selling medical memoir, Healing Children: A Surgeon’s Stories from the Frontiers of Pediatric Medicine

In 2021, Dr. Newman received the CEO of the Year award from the Washington Business Journal.
